I have always loved the feel of fine leather and am intrigued by it as a sculptural medium. For me, creating mythic creatures from materials that have had a previous life is ultimately appropriate. I honor the stories embedded in the materials, be they leather, stone, old textiles, or beads, and honor the sources. May they encourage your sense of adventure and the creation and sharing of story.

Thank you to everyone who made the Smithsonian Craft Fair the beautiful and successful event it was - artists, attendees, volunteers, staff... It was wonderful to be surrounded by such artistry, support, and positive creative energy. I was honored to receive the Gold Founder's Award - an affirmation of the sculptural focus my work has taken over the last several years. I'm looking forward to seeing what creatures want to show up for the Paradise City Arts Festival May 23-25.
