Celestial Bears
Merak and Urus Menor

Once upon a time a very long time ago (or so we think), a particularly impish, adventurous, and energetic Star Wanderer named Merak was dancing through a galaxy practicing some new flying moves, when he tumbled into a soft, amorphous constellation who responded "uff!" "Oh!...Sorry!" replied the startled Merak...and thus began the longtime friendship of Urus Menor (also called Little Bear by certain friends) and Merak. After sharing legends of Stars, galaxies, planets, and personal adventures, Merak and Urus Menor decided they should go on a journey together.

But where? Which galaxy, time dimension or planet?

Hmmm...little blue and green sphere in the not too distant reaches seemed interesting. And so it was decided that Earth would be their first destination and locale to investigate. With permission from Urus Major and Merak's parents (who frankly didn't mind at all the idea of Merak going on a vision quest and giving them peace for a few eons, especially in the company of such a strong, grounded, young friend), they set off. (Merak and Urus Menor land in Alaska, travel to the redwoods of California, follow the Rocky Mountains down through the Andes...then over to other continents. They have such a great time that they send out messages to Star Wandering friends to join them and encourage them to bring along their critter friends. Many arrive accompanied by beasts similar to Urus Menor, befriended in other galaxies (or cloud atmospheres of near or far off planets). Occasionally they meet a Star Wanderer and companion who arrived on earth even before Merak and Urus Menor.)

To be continued...
